The Emperor's Clothes and biased evidence

Who doesn't know Hans Christian Andersen's "The Emperor's Clothes"?

After the child has said: "But he has nothing on!" other people start to repeat the phrase
and after a while everybody shouts: "But he has nothing on!" End of dogma, exit the
Emperor.

But in our real world things are different and whenever someone dares to take the child's
role, that person is immediately hushed and any guy who has the wits to continue is
immediately kicked in the a.s.

The Aids apologists, they are like the astronomers in Charles Fort's "New Lands". They
observe, interpret, calculate and predict. After some time it becomes clear: results are
wrong, predictions fail. But don't try to criticize: they can explain. They recalculate
and reinterpret and make new predictions. Which fail again. They explain. Only to fail
again. Failure is explained. Sometimes a prediction is fulfilled. But they will never
admit that when the problem is to find the right number between 1 and 10, and 10 persons
chose a different number between 1 and 10, one of them has the right answer. Never. Having
been able to give the right answer is the miracle of science. The astronomers say.

HIV=Aids=Death scientists. They diagnose: Fatal disease.  And predict. They say: Take my
drug, you have no choice. It's not perfect and you might not live long but it's the best
we have.

Jennifer  took the drug and she has never stopped vomiting ever since. William took the
drug and stopped vomiting the day he ceased treatment. Carlos never took the drug and
never vomited. 15 years after the diagnosis: Jennifer died 14 years ago. William died 5
years ago. Carlos is still alive and well. The scientists, they can explain everything and
thus they explain.

Jennifer died 14 years ago because HIV is a real bad mother f.cker. William died 5 years
ago because he was an idiot to stop treatment. Carlos is still alive and well and
scientists know why: Carlos is a long-term non-progressor.

Those are the wonderful achievements of modern times. Who needs a TV-set now that the
whole goddamn world has become the theatre for hilarious tragic comedy disaster? True, not
many laugh. But it's a great piece. Many cry. Many fight. The rest doesn't give a f.ck.

Anderson's child of innocence says: "But that Jennifer, William and Carlos: I can think of
another interpretation of the facts. Might it be that the real bad mother f.cker are the
drugs or that they are at least part of the devil's game? That being so utterly afraid as
Jennifer was can be deadly? Carlos never took the HIV test serious but who can fathom the
depth of William's abysses of depression caused by social exclusion due to his HIV+
diagnose? That also explains quite neatly Jennifer's quick death, William's defeat and
Carlos' long-time survival."

Scientist- No, HIV is the only explanation. We've tried all hypothesis. It's the only one
that really holds the candle.

Child-  We? Who are "we"? Who tried all hypothesis?

Scientist-  Scientists and virologists all over the world. Never heard of Robert Gallo,
maybe? Weinberg? Moore? Chermann? Montagnier?

Child-   Who are they?

Scientist-   World famous scientists. They all agree. They are the specialists nobody
contests.

Child-   World famous, huh? I see. I figure they have a big bone in the fight. Anyway,
seen the overall results in the war against Aids, I can't think of one single reason to
shovel under any work hypothesis and start from scratch again.

Scientist-   You sound like that Duesberg fool.

Child-   Who's Duesberg?

Scientist-   You really know nothing, do you? Once upon a time Duesberg was a famous
virologist. But he's a fool and he criticized too much. End of career.

Child-   End of career? Sounds he doesn't have a bone at all in the fight. I'm betting on
Duesberg.

The HIV=Aids scientists weave the draperies of their theories with the golden threads of
standards and concepts. Peer Review! Evidence Based Medicine. But when you dare give it
all a closer look, there's only biased evidence agreed upon by the out sprouts of
scientific inbred.

Each time the members of The Scientific Community pass by, dressed in the golden clothes
of utter contempt, I swear that I clearly see their naked a.s. But when I shout: "Hey! But
they have nothing on!" the crowd tells me to shut up.

Well, what the heck. The earth is said to be a bit crowded nowadays so here's the only
bottom line I can think of right now (free transcription of Bill Hicks):

"Anybody, DUMB enough to believe naked assed doctors who say pills that make you vomit
from the first day you take them are good for your health, should be allowed full access
to drug stores and health care facilities."

Why, what a marvelous metaphor for denialist bullshit.

Y'know, the grammar errors and substitutions--like "loose" for "lose"
and like here, 'your' for 'you're" show you up every time, no matter
what persona you take on.  And in whatever group you infest.

Indeed. Scribbling ignorant bullshit on internet message boards is a
potent way to preserve lives.

Fool.

You're right, M-J. Unfortunately, if people like Carlos (if that's not
another sock for Diablo) actually believe this nonsense--well. Sigh.
I've seen it happen over and over again. The people that embrace this
bullshit are often HIV+. If they refuse to pay attention to it in any
way, they usually wind up with CD4 cell counts approaching zero.
Opportunistic infections develop. Then they die.

We all have to die. But not necessarily so soon!

Idiots like Jan help people to their grave faster.

JS:

Did you read my recent post here, "Using basic logic to understand
"HIV/AIDS."" ?

They have abandoned logic, even at the most basic level.  We are beyond
the Emperor's New Clothes now.  In this case, the "Emperor" has no
kingdom, aside from the asylum and his fellow inmates, whom he calls
his "subjects."  Like all periods of fanaticism, this one will come to
an end at some point, and historians like myself will write about it in
very similar terms as they do now the witchcraft fears of the sixteenth
and seventeenth centuries in Europe.  Being heavily "invested" in a
notion is quite similar to insanity, and many of us realize this in
politics these days, but when it comes to what is considered "science,"
it is much easier to convince the public that "white is black" and
"black is white."  Thus, it will take longer for the deadly
"HIV=AIDS=DEATH" house of cards to crumble than it does for
incompetent, ideological-minded politicians to be voted out of office.

If you have yet to do so, I explain what the best explanation for
"HIV/AIDS" is on my web site:

http://groups.msn.com/TheScientificDebateForum-/

I quote the "virus hunters" directly, and I also cite numerous studies
from the scientific literature.

Dear God, Monty. What are you babbling about? You wouldn't know logic
if it bit you in miserable a.s.

I can understand why you feel the need to appeal to God, Mr. Carter,
and you have my sympathies if you don't understand the point I was
making, that is, if all kinds of things considered very or fairly safe
(or even "healthy," such as fish oil supplementation) are known to be
immunosuppresssive, then how can one claim that a person died of "AIDS"
due to "HIV infection" (leaving aside the isolation issue here) if one
does not know exactly what that person has done to his/her body over a
course of time leading up to the symptoms of "AIDS?"  Of course, once
you put someone on AZT or similarly toxic "medication," you have
introduced a factor that must be controlled for, but again, that is a
different, though crucial issue.
GMCarter - 30 Jul 2006 00:52 GMT

Indeed. I'm an agnostic.

But about your scientific rigor? I'm fully aware that yours is mostly
mortis.

Those stupid stupid astronomers. They should just accept Fort's idea of
the Super-Sargasso_Sea http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super-Sargasso_Sea
Continents floating in the sky. The earth is not round but top-shaped.

You inability to distinguish between science and pseudoscience is
further demonstrated.

Read a science book for a change.

Noble !!! Great to know you're still fooling around on the boards. I saw you're one of
Silly Tara's buddies. I have the impression she doesn't really read my little notes, so
let her know I send the princess my respectful greetings next time you see her.

Anyway. The day the fight over HIV=Aids will be over, the bone you have in it will gone
with the wind. That day I'll teach you how to read between the lines, read a text entirely
without prejudice and grab the deeper meaning of all things.

Hey, Noble. I figure professor John P. Moore (greetings to him too while you're at it) is
one of your buddies too. I wrote him a letter some days ago. It's included below. Enjoy !

___

Cornillon-Confoux

The 7th of July 2006

To: Professor John P. Moore, Major General in the War on AIDS and spokesperson for The
Scientific Community

CC: Everybody who can read.

Dear Sir,

Recently I stumbled over a surrealistic phrase displayed on my computer screen and while
reading it, I had the kind of feeling a man experiences when he receives a violent blow
beneath the belt.

What phrase did I read? Let me show you:

"The science community does not 'debate' with the AIDS denialists, it treats them with the
utter contempt that they deserve and exposes them for the charlatans that they are."

The phrase struck my eye on the 21st of June 2006 and it was kicked around between my eye
and brain cells for about one quarter of an hour before it was finally authorised full
access to ultimate decoding facilities. And it was not until then that I realized its full
implications. That it was not only a phrase from hell, but also a phrase sent to me by the
Spirits of Divine Right.

Professor John P. Moore, Major General in the War on AIDS and spokesperson for The
Scientific Community, may I call you a genius and a friend? Yes, may I? Thank you, Sir.
Let us come together and shake hands.

You must know that recently my life has become an impossible struggle. Which I was at the
point of losing were it not for the application of a slightly modified version of the
phrase above. Indeed, your phrase from hell has enabled me to restore my princely
lifestyle for many more years to come.

Professor John P. Moore, Sir, please allow me to explain.

Like you and The Scientific Society are sitting on the lucrative HIV=Aids business, I am
the owner of an African gold mine. A very profitable African gold mine. My father owned
the gold mine before I did, and my grandfather was in charge before that. The very
profitable African gold mine has made my family rich. Very, very rich. Not only because it
really is a very profitable African gold mine, but also because all the people working
there are very, very poor. And the poorer they stay, the wealthier my family becomes.

I do not precisely know what has happened over the last two decades, but the poor have
become increasingly dissatisfied. Like the Aids-dissenters are nagging you, the people of
my village say they want a reappraisal of the All Including Divine Share given by Divine
Right to my grand grandfather and medicine man, former middleman between the village's
people and The Spirits. But the people's overall confidence is faltering and as The
Spirits are losing their grip over the village, I lose my grip over the very profitable
African gold mine, also called the High Interest Vault.

The worst are the Ceremonies of Word, Song and Prayer. And even, Song and Prayer do not
really bother me, it's the Words that are getting me. People question and contest. And I
never know what to respond.

I've been thinking for years: "If only I could find a path to get away from those painful
and depressing debates, to never have to listen to the poor again, to never have to speak
to them anymore."

I've been searching for many years. I have not found one single path. Until the 21st of
June 2006 when I read the phrase from hell sent to me by The Spirits through your
keyboard.

Since the eve of the 21st of June there has been only one more Ceremony of Word, Song and
Prayer. At noon the next day, I have pronounced the definite answer:

"The community of the Chosen does not 'debate' with the denialists of the All Including
Divine Share given by The Spirits according the Laws of Divine Right, it treats them with
the utter contempt that they deserve and exposes them for the lower forms of life that
they are."

I know that they have recognized their master. They will go to work in the morning and
never bother me again.

~/~

Professor John P. Moore, Major General in the War on AIDS and spokes person for The
Scientific Community, Sir, are you still reading?

I'd be surprised. All those posts you have received since the publishing of the phrase
from hell must have made you sick. But in case you were still reading, may I ask you to
come over so I can punch you on the nose?

Professor John P. Moore, Sir, please allow me to explain.

You may be sitting on the Aids business, I am not the owner of a very profitable African
gold mine. I have made up that cute little story because it is the only context in which I
can stage someone saying the things you say. I also think that an owner of a very
profitable African gold mine who would speak like that would have his throat slid before
sunrise.

Luckily for you, the Aids-dissenters who send you letters to explain that you are a silly
man and why you are a silly man, are civilized persons who do not slid throats. As I
already wrote in another post you may have read, they are non-violent pipe smoking
scientists, bespectacled intellectuals and idealistic lovers of peace. They are well
educated people and kindly try to explain things, which is why they do not practice the
language of the dirty mouthed warriors engaged in the War on AIDS on your side of The
Scientific Community. For instance, the HIV=Aids opponents who criticize your way of
thinking will never call you a farcical a.shole and a sucker of Satan's cock. It's true,
you may protest and say that I punched you on the nose, but that's only because you keep
asking for it all the time.

Well, let's call this post a post. I don't think you will read it but I do hope others
will and have a good laugh. Anyway, if you do read this letter to the end, don't bother to
let me know I should not attempt to correspond with you any further. I know that already
since you wrote it to everybody else.

I understand you feel safe behind the barriers of utter contempt and I can respect the
privacy of a person who desperately needs to be left alone. Which is why I would end this
message with a kind advise and say:

John P. Moore, take a knife to cut that bloody Internet connexion and have a beer to pee
more in the john.

Regards,

Jan Spreen
