Any ideas on how to Save / Fix the FDA?

You probably know of the "cozy" relationship it has with Big Pharma, how it:

1) lets Big Pharma keep dangerous meds on the market

2) lets Big Pharma reward doctors for prescribing more costly and less
thoroughly tested meds

3) prohibits the importation of Canadian and other low cost meds - for the
benefit of Big Pharma

4) how it trying to discredit natural remedies like green tea saying that it
doesn't have any benefit - when it does - again for the benefit of Big
Pharma and

5) is attacking and trying to re-ban the granddaddy of all herbs, ephedra,
that poses the greatest threat to Big Pharma - again for the benefit of Big
Pharma.
