It doesn't say what kind of test was used.  If it was the antibody test,
he should still test positive even if every virus had been eliminated
from his body, just like you still retain antibodies to the flu after
you've recovered from it.  A PCR test should clarify matters IF the
original blood sample still exists, but the article says he refuses to
submit to further testing, therefore this claim should be ignored.

I doubt it.... your phrasing of the question shows a bias.

Again, Diablo... this is a *newspaper* story, not a peer-reviewed journal.

You are a lunatic!  That wasn't me, I think you're suffering from
paranoia, probably a symptom of AIDS-related dementia.  Hmm, since
I've gone on and on and on for years about how HIV is completely
incurable, why would I mention a case where it was claimed to have
been cured?

Have you checked your aluminum foil hat for holes recently?

Does look very interesting though... the guy's name is Andrew Stimpson
and he was diagnosed with HIV which he caught from his partner (known
to be positive). Now he's got the all clear.

You can watch the story breaking at http://www.andrewstimpsonnews.com

Interesting - if its true.
He tried to sue the hospital for giving him the wrong result. That
didn't work, so he now sells his story to the Daily Mirror and the News
of the World.
He claims to want to help sufferers ("MEDICAL miracle Andrew Stimpson
yesterday vowed to do "everything in my power" to give hope to millions
of Aids sufferers.")
However, when requested to give further samples of blood to help
clarify matters, he refuses.
Perchance he has a purely financial motive for all his actions?
