         Yes, we've been discussing that for quite some time.
         But there's just one problem, the tests aren't instant
         and usually take up to several weeks for results.
         In that time the two wannabe partners have likely
         engaged in sex with dozens if not hundreds or random
         strangers, so the 2-week-old HIV test results are
         useless. Even if the tests were instant, I'm not sure
         if both members of the couple could even make it home
         without f.cking a few random strangers along the way.

have a benchmark for another time when they discover they have
some infection. determining when the possible exposure happened
is useful information for the doctor in diagnosis and offering a
course of treatment.

and not getting tested means there is no chance of detecting
existing infections until symptoms appear and it could be too
late for all the other people exposed to the person with the
symptoms.
