Yes, we've been discussing that for quite some time.  But there's
just one problem, the tests aren't instant and usually take up
to several weeks for results.  In that time the two wannabe partners
have likely engaged in sex with dozens if not hundreds or random
strangers, so the 2-week-old HIV test results are useless.  Even
if the tests were instant, I'm not sure if both members of the
couple could even make it home without f.cking a few random
strangers along the way.

Yes, we've been discussing that for quite some time.
But there's just one problem, the tests aren't instant
and usually take up to several weeks for results.
In that time the two wannabe partners have likely
engaged in sex with dozens if not hundreds or random
strangers, so the 2-week-old HIV test results are
useless. Even if the tests were instant, I'm not sure

that's right

what it's going to do is end any possible relationship between
the two people. it's immediately going to dampen any interest in
the other person, the person asked who doesn't have enough sexual
excitement about the other person.

and the other is going to be completely insulted, humiliated and
feel the other person is accusing them of being diseased which is
going to cure their ardor.

the person who asks is going to be distressed at losing a sexual
opportunity.

it's very possible where they would go flying off in that
direction, into random sexual encounters without any
consideration for their own personal welfare. gay men are
infecting each other.

you can throw a road block in the way of just going ahead and
having sex.

isn't the problem that the two people are going out and having
random sexual encounters anyway and that produced the plague among
gay people. that's what's been going on all along anyway.

your description is what they are going to do because they went
and got a test together as if no two people have gone on and had
random sexual encounters because two people went and got tested
together for sexually transmitted infections.

and if they were ever going to get sexually transmitted
infections wouldn't it be because of having the random sexual
encounters?

so if such two people got tested they would at the very least
have a benchmark for another time when they discover they have
some infection. determining when the possible exposure happened
is useful information for the doctor in diagnosis and offering a
course of treatment.

and not getting tested means there is no chance of detecting
existing infections until symptoms appear and it could be too
late for all the other people exposed to the person with the
symptoms.
