No gays, no AIDS
You gotta love wacky North Korea.[and wacky Wockner] Last month the nation
reported that it has never had an AIDS case and also doesn’t have any
homosexuals.
The AIDS statistics could be true. This is, after all, the most closed,
isolated, secretive nation on the planet. But no gays? Poor, deluded North
Korea.
...............
“The DPRK is the sole country on the earth that has no AIDS-related
patient so far,” Han [North Korean Health minister] said. “As a medical
worker I feel sure that there will not occur a case in the DPRK in the
future, either. The DPRK ... encourages the population to have a noble
viewpoint towards love, marriage and family, and observe a sound
lifestyle. The country has neither licensed and private prostitutes nor
homosexuals and drug addicts.”
.............
..Han did note that 27 foreign workers who tested HIV-positive recently
were sent home at their own requests....
********
I think this wacky commentator misses how telling it is that a nation
which does not believe it has an HIV infection does not find HIV
infection. Probably doesn't look too hard either but in foreign workers.
I knew Japan had a ridiculously low rate of AIDS but hadn't realized North
Korea had missed the hysteria altogether.

Oh my god the irony of it all, that champion of free sex Paul King quoting a
story about North Korea as somehow supporting his beliefs about AIDS.
Paul do you honestly believe that there are no North Korean homosexuals? Or
is it that you think they are simply shot once discovered which is more
likely the case based on what we know about life in North Korea.
I would imagine the same fate would befall any North Korean person who
presented with PCP or any other AIDS related OI.
The only way that North Korea might be used in your propaganda is that in
all likely hood HIV testing is not available to anyone born in North Korea.
It is highly unlikely that in a nation were starvation is rampant, health
care for the poor and middle class largely unavailable it is highly unlikely
that any resources would be available for HIV testing.
As to the claim that there are no drug addicts in the country. This is also
one that the government of North Korea has complete control over, i.e. if a
North Korean is caught with drugs they are simply shot our sent to forced
labor camps were they are worked to death thus eliminating the problem as
from as the 'Dear Leader' is concerned.
