Hi to all:
Since I'm new to your newsgroup I'd like to first intro myself to all
of you. I'm not HIV, or not to my knowledge. I am, as defined by
the Course, insane (LOL). My problem is that when I started doing my
political activism in cyberspace - I ATTACKED them. And as we all
know that's a no, no, by the standards of the Course. The short
story is that my life went from: Hey! This is great stuff "kicking
a.s!" to: Help! I'm stiff as a board! LOL-no?
My help came from an angles' gift shop here in Hilo, the sales clerk
clued me into metaphysics (she gave me a book list to read).
Unfortunately, I couldn't find any of these books at my local
library. So I began to fiddle with "subject" search and found
angels. Yes, just what I needed. My spiritual adventure went from
angels, to miracles, to healings, and finally to the Course (A Course
in Miracles). And so - here I am.
Please understand that all of my ideas are all new to me and I'm
finding them quite fascinating. All of my ideas are from books that
I've been reading, some as far back as five or more years ago, while
some are of recent dates. What I've done is to link these ideas
together in order to understand the Course. This post is a good
example of what I'm talking about.
In her book, A Return to Love, Marianne Williamson is saying Jesus
healed the sick by communicating beyond the body, from His mind to the
mind of the sick person, that sickness, sin, and death is not real,
such that the sinner's mind was healed/changed, and consequently, his
sickness was healed too. See below quote from the Course's chapter
27.
OK, so what? Well, when I first read this I was clueless, I had no
idea what Williamson was talking about but accepted it to be so until
the other day. What happened the other day is that I once again began
to read Ho'oulu: Our Time of Becoming, Hawaiian Epistemology and
Early Writings by Manulani Aluli Meyer and found the idea that mind is
body. Because it's still difficult for me to talk the talk, the best
that I can do is to give you the ideas that are swirling about in my
intellect - where every it might be!
I think Harry Edwards' The Healing Intelligence best exemplifies
aspects of the ideas that I'm looking at, in particular, body
intelligence. That is, the comparison is between Edwards' idea that
body intelligence is behind the stomach and the Hawaiians' idea that
it's at the na'au (the guts). Anyhow, consider the following ideas
that I'm finding most interesting. The importance of this is that
the Course is teaching us that the body's purpose is healing.
Hawaiians 'felt' wisdom
They 'experienced' intellect
For them thinking and feeling are not separate
Emotions were not feared with respect to knowledge
A key Hawaiian idea:
How one defines morality in a rational universe is enmeshed in how one
is expected to experience it. Is it alive? Is it filled with spirits?
Are relatives felt in the breeze? Does it reciprocate? (124).
The Hawaiians: Intellect & emoting = na'au (the gut area) vs.
Harry Edwards's healing intelligence, it's behind the stomach
THE KEY IDEA:
THE HEAD = dwelling place for spirits
THE POINT OF THIS POST: is the question: what is realty? That is,
everything that the body's eyes and ears sees and hears are not real,
while everything in the dwelling place for spirits is real, for it's
the Kingdom of God.
What I'm trying to say is that the Course's forgiveness is the
acknowledgment that our objective existence is not real. Whalla!
Jesus communicates to His brother that it isn't real, and he is
healed.
The Course - CH 27
T-27.II.4. Forgiveness is not real unless it brings a healing to your
brother and yourself. 2 You must attest his sins have no effect on you
to demonstrate they are not real. 3 How else could he be guiltless? 4
And how could his innocence be justified unless his sins have no effect
to warrant guilt? 5 Sins are beyond forgiveness just because they would
entail effects that cannot be undone and overlooked entirely. 6 In
their undoing lies the proof that they are merely errors. 7 Let
yourself be healed that you may be forgiving, offering salvation to
your brother and yourself.
OK, the key idea is that the head is the dwelling place for spirits,
our reality.
The Kingdom of God is within you. Look within, you cannot find it
outside of your self. The Christ Mind.
Are there any reactions to this one?

That you're probably not going to be welcome much longer if you insist
on posting offtopic.

You took a Course and learned, from your books and instructors, that
what you see with your eyes and hear with your ears is not real.
You saw the words in the books with your eyes. You heard the words
of the instructors with your ears. They are not real.

We have enough 'religion' here in the form of the absurd 'AIDS cult'
without anymore.
Blind faith may be the cornerstone of 'AIDS' but that does not mean that
every other branch of puritan hysteria is welcome here, too.
There are plenty of religious boards just only too happy to indulge in
blind faith.
I suggest you go find one and post your nonsense there.

I was saying something subtle, which is probably why you didn't
understand it.

Subtle. Now that's a new one from you.
Mr. Subtle....my foot.
