The CDC does NOT include prostitutes in it's 'high risk' groups.

Hyams KC et al. HIV infection in a non-drug abusing prostitute population.
Scandinavian Journal of Infectious Diseases.

David Crowe also report this study in Referenced Quotes about Transmission
of HIV and AIDS.
448 licensed female prostitutes in Nuremburg, West Germany, were studied

No prostitute tested was anti-HIV positive [...] they had been prostitutes
for 77 months on average [...] The mean number of clients was 13 per week
[...]

This heterosexually very active group of women has remained free from HIV
infection.
Smith GL, Smith KF. Lack of HIV infection and condom use in licensed
prostitutes. Lancet.

The quote above is from a letter to the Lancet:

Lack of HIV Infection and Condom Use in Licensed Prostitutes--The
   Lancet Dec.13, 1986

SIR,--Licensed prostitutes in West Germany have a human
immunodeficiency virus (HIV) antibody prevalence rate of 1% and
unlicensed prostitutes have a prevalence of 20%.  This difference
has not been explained although intravenous drug usage is more
   common in unlicensed prostitutes. ...

This heterosexually very active group of women [the licensed
prostitutes] has remained free from HIV infection. The demographic
mix of their clients, the absence of intravenous drug abuse and
the frequency with which condoms are used for all sexual practices
may be protecting these prostitutes from infection.

Not only are you quoting selectively, but you're also concealing the
fact that this quote came from a letter, not a peer-reviewed article,
and that it was written almost 18 years ago.

The simple fact that prostitutes are NOT included in the current CDC list
of high risk groups, shows that the findings of this, and the scores of
subsequent studies, are still valid.

Prostitutes don't get AIDS.

You canntot escape that fact.

When I attended a HIV support group in Toronto, there was a prostitute
who had AIDS who came about every other week...

Easy to "escape" a statement that is not a fact by any stretch of the
imagination. Sex workers are particularly vulnerable to HIV infection
and do get AIDS. I've known lots personally.

Now, there is a cohort I believe in Kenya of repeatedly exposed women
who did not become infected. They can teach us a lot. Some who stopped
the work for a couple of years and then resumed, DID subsequently
become infected.

Sex workers who have access to and can insist on men using condoms
reduce their risk of infection. Thailand is a beautiful model for
this. Keeping sex work illegal and preventing women from organizing is
just criminally stupid. Indeed, the Sonagachi red light district in
Kolkata serves as an excellent example: incidence of HIV disease among
sex workers plummeted when they organized. By contrast, rates remain
high in Mumbai where such organization has been prevented by the
authorities.

They are a high risk group in Southern Africa.

They do in sub-Saharan Africa.

You can't escape that fact.

You are ignoring the role of condoms.

Also,

SIR,--Licensed prostitutes in West Germany have a human
immunodeficiency virus (HIV) antibody prevalence rate of 1% and
unlicensed prostitutes have a prevalence of 20%.  This difference
has not been explained although intravenous drug usage is more

Since dissidents quote this letter to support their position, they
must consider the writer authoritative, and should therefore accept
his opinion that intravenous drug use is insufficient to explain
the difference in HIV prevalence between the licensed and unlicensed
prostitutes.

Religion and it's new byproduct 'AIDS' are taught to children almost as
soon as they can talk.  Logic is taught in university.

'AIDS' is pseudo scientific religion. "Have sex and go to Hell" with a
modern twist.

No.  Have unprotected sex and put yourself at risk of all sorts of
STI's, one of which is HIV.

I always tell teenagers when I do HIV education that it is because I
want them to have long, happy, satisfying sex lives that I recommend
that they use a condom every single time they have sex unless they
want specifically to conceive a baby from *that* act of sex.

And I wear my clerical collar while I say that.

Interestingly, there are actually two reasons for a lower rate of
HIV in licenced prostitutes and both are related to IV drug use.
The first is the risk from the IV drug use itself.  Secondly, and
very importantly, non-drug users are more likely to be responsible
about using condoms for their own benefit and, same thing, less
likely to accept more money for having unprotected sex.
